Buying a GMC Envoy XL engine is a breeze with ASAP Motors. The Envoy had a couple of different engines available for the first generation SUV. The smaller engine was a 4.2 inline 6 cylinder engine. This was a nice engine that ran well and offer sound performance and good fuel economy. The second option was a step up to the 5.3 liter V8 engine. These engines just seem to keep going and going. They are a long running engine as far as production goes and used in many different GM platforms.

The second and third generation Envoy were also based on the Chevy Trailblazer platform. The third generation Envoy has a 5.3 liter engine with variable displacement. GM pulled that off by using an old technology they had in the past with the Cadillac V8-6-4 fuel injection system. The 5.3 liter engine will turn of cylinders on the fly conserving fuel but fire them up with the driver even knowing based on acceleration demands. This redone updated technology works very well and helps accomplish fuel consumption demands placed on the manufacture.
