The Chrysler Pacifica is a crossover vehicle from the stables of Chrysler built from 2003 – 2007. The car took cues from minivans and was designed on the same platform as that of the 2000 Chrysler Citadel. The first generation Pacifica was powered by a 3.5 liter EGJ V6 and was available with a four speed manual transmission system with an auto stick feature. The car sported front wheel drive technology and it was a midsized cross over. Used Pacifica engines for sale are available over the internet and interested people could look for it in salvage yards as well.
The next generation Chrysler Pacifica used a 3.8 liter EGH V6 motor that came as an upgrade to the former EGJ V6. The 2006 Chrysler Town and Country and the Dodge Caravan are powered by this engine and hence the same engine can be refitted to either one of these vehicles. The engine also came with a dual exhaust system which is present in all the cars where this engine features.
The 2007 model of the Pacifica was powered by an improved 4.0 liter SOHC V6 engine and this car featured a navigation system for the first time. The car also featured new drive train features like an improved six speed 62 TE automatic transmission with the auto stick feature. This was the first Pacifica model to be fitted with a 4.0 liter SOHC V6 and hence this was used in many succeeding models from Chrysler and Dodge. For example, the Dodge Grand Canyon and the Chrysler Voyager used the same 4.0 L SOHC engine and drive train features like the speed 62 TE automatic transmission.
The 2007 model of the Chrysler Pacifica used a short valve system for increased acceleration and the car used 24 valves, hydraulic and centrally pivoted rocket armed engine with fuel injection. The compression ratio of the SOHC motor is 10.0:1 and the car produces 250 HP @ 6,400 RPM. Torque produced by the engine is 250 lb @ 3,950 RPM. The Pacifica used the adaptive electronically controlled clutch for the first time on the 2007 model and this was later continued to other Chrysler models.
