The Cadillac Catera was produced for 4 years and GM built an engine specifically for this vehicle. The engine was a 3.0 liter V6 that produced 200 horsepower. The Catera was offered in a base model with manual seats and was stripped down compared to the usual package that Cadilla normally offers.

Building the Catera was done to be presented to a younger audience also watching the budget. Cadillac hired model Cindy Crawford to make the car more attractive to the target audience. The buzz was also increased by “Buzz” and called it the Caddy that zigs. Although a good marketing campaign was followed through with, Cadillac stopped production after 4 years of being built.
