The Cadillac DTS is a version of the Deville. Cadillac used its favorite go to engine for the lineup with a 4.6 liter Northstar. It is a high power high RPM engine that is fun to drive as it offers lots of power. Fuel economy was not as good as a conventional 6 cylinder car but less economy goes hand in hand when purchasing a luxury vehicle.

When Cadillac saw people enjoyed the 4.6 liter Northstar, GM added an even more powerful Northstar option to the line. This gave people the ability to have a real luxury car that has the power to run with other top performing sedans.
