Buick Reatta Engine

For a brief time Buick built the Reatta sport coupe vehicle. It was a complete failure for Buick. The engine used was a very popular 3.8 liter V6 fuel injected engine. It was the same engine offered in many other GM cars like the Buick Regal, Chevy Monte Carlo, and Oldsmobile Ciera just to name a few.

The later model Reatta keep the same 3.8 liter engine offered in the newer GM models but was the wrong engine to put into a car that was purposed to be in a sport line of automobile. The horsepower was lacking with a low torque rating as well. The engine was very dependable and fuel efficient just a poor choice for the application. At the very end of production, Buick offered a Supercharged version but still fell short of expectations.
