The Buick Electra dates back to the 1950’s era. The engine we are discussing are the newer types used in the 80’s and 90’s. The Electra offered 3 engine options to buyers at the time, a 3.0 liter V6, a 3.8 liter V6 and a 4.3 liter V6 engine.

The 3.0 liter engine was the cheapest engine available but the bottom end of the engine was terrible. The 3.8 liter was a good step up in performance and durability for the vehicle. The 4.3 liter V6 was by far the best for the Electra. It offered great performance and decent fuel economy. The 4.3 engine was used for more than 15 years because of its proven design.
