In the year 2005 Mitsubishi Motors sold its Mitsubishi Raider pickup truck in the US. Chevy Colorado and Toyota Tacoma were its competitors. After the discontinuation of Mighty Max in 1996 there was a gap which was filled with this Mitsubishi Pickup. There were a few engine choices available for this vehicle. There is also a pickup manufactured in the Mitsubishi subsidiary in Thailand. It is called the Triton. It is the same truck originally known as Mitsubishi Forte in Japan. What is produced in Thailand is the 4th generation Triton which was released in 2005. This vehicle is exported to 140 different markets in the world. It has had good sales from the beginning. Global sales for the first three generations have been 2.8 million globally.
